Dr. J's Platform
As outlined in the 2023 Constitution & Bylaws: The National Secretary is the Corporate Secretary of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and shall be responsible for the execution of duties typically associated with a corporate secretary.
As National Secretary, I will:
- Safeguard the National Board of Directors' records and the Sorority's official documents
- Prepare minutes and agendas for meetings of the National Board of Directors and Executive Committee
- Oversee and update the Sorority's policy management system
- Manage the Sorority's master calendar and swiftly input all regional and national events
- Conduct assigned trainings to ensure members have the information needed to transact Sorority business at the chapter, regional, and national levels
- Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of Grand Chapter proceedings
- Evaluate the effectiveness of our current communication methods
- Collaborate with the National Board of Directors, National Headquarters Staff, Documents Review and Management Committee, Regional Officers, and Regional Secretaries to enhance the efficiency of our communication and production of workbooks and program documents
- Explore resources, including collaborating with the National Technology Committee and National Headquarters Staff, to improve our communication
- Build on past successes in this position to maintain and authenticate Board records and official documents
- Remain easily accessible, responsive and transformational as I serve members in excellence
- Diligently carry out all duties of the office as outlined in the Sorority's Constitution and Bylaws with integrity as I continue to chart my path as a transformational and servant Delta leader.
