Soror Jenkins often says collegiates are the heartbeat of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., an organization founded by 22 collegiates. In her experience, collegiates bring a fresh perspective and exciting energy. Their creativity and drive inspire us and give us a sense of pride. Just as she has supported collegiates in her other roles, Soror Jenkins is committed to ensuring that the voices of collegiates are heard, and that collegiates are supported in reaching their full leadership potential because we need the collegiates to survive!

In her role as Chair of the 2021 National Nominating Committee, Soror Jenkins and the phenomenal NNC members made a commitment to including collegiate members in the process. Notably, the 2021 National Nominating Committee accomplished the following:

• Presented Collegiate Pathways to Elected Leadership, a unique collection of short videos that covered various nominating-related topics designed to increase the knowledge of collegiate members about seeking elected office.

• Held the first Slated Collegiates Roundtable to demystify the campaign process and to share best practices for campaigning within the Sorority.

• Slated a record number of 17 collegiate members, the largest in Delta’s history, which is attributed to the committee’s focus of engaging and enlightening collegiate members about the value of serving in an elected position.
